Stafford’s Private Wine Label Collection

Stafford's Hospitality

Brian Ewbank, Vice President of Food & Beverage for Stafford’s Hospitality introduces our new wine collection.

We are pleased to introduce Stafford’s Private Wine Label Collection. Brian Ewbank, our Vice President of Food & Beverage, has been working with Oakbow Cellars in Napa Valley for the past two years, to bring a distinct wine collection to northern Michigan to pair with Stafford’s menu offerings.

Our first release, is a 2011 Pinot Noir from Carneros. This full bodied, jammy and slightly tanic wine, was selected specifically for Stafford’s Weathervane Restaurant in Charlevoix to complement their salmon, chicken and pork tenderloin entrées. This wine is now available on each of our 2013 Summer Wine Menus.

Coming in June, we will be releasing our Chardonnay from Russian River. This wine has notes of lemon, pineapple and balanced with a long finish. This wine was selected to pair with our classic whitefish entrees, specifically chosen for Stafford’s Perry Hotel in Petoskey.

Finally, our 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa, will be released mid-June. This wine is a classic Napa grape with great cherry preserves and snappy! This wine was specifically chosen for Stafford’s Pier Restaurant in Harbor Springs to complement our all-natural steak selections.

Stafford's Pinot Noir WineOur wines will be available at each of dining locations and will be offered on our banquet menus for weddings & special events. Our wines will also be available at a special retail price at Stafford’s Gallery of Art & History in Petoskey for $5 off each bottle you purchase. Don’t forget to browse our great selection of wine accessories, too!

Meet Our Summer Intern

Sales InternWe would like to introduce our Sales & Event Intern, Kathryn. She joins us at Stafford’s Hospitality for her first season – we are thrilled to have her on our team! Here’s a bit more about Kathryn.

In the fall, she will be going into her Junior Year at Grand Valley State University. She is pursuing a major in Hospitality and Tourism Managements with a minor in Business and Adventure Tourism. She began college with the idea of being a business major, however, after exploring different areas, she realized interacting and meeting people is something she truly loves and knew hospitality was her path to travel.

Kathryn grew up in Flushing, MI but always loved the feel and hospitality of northern Michigan. After living in Florida and working for Walt Disney World for four months, she knew that northern Michigan was where she wanted to be.

“I am so excited about working at Stafford’s Perry Hotel and am eager to learn all that I can!” Kathryn notes. “Hopefully, after I graduate, Petoskey will be my permanent home address!”

Welcome Kathryn, we are happy to have you!
